Professor Robert Chianese will explore this question. Robert Chianese got his B. A. from Rutgers (1964) and M. A. and Ph.D. from Washington University, St. Louis (1971). He is a professor of English at California State University, Northridge and teaches courses on British and American literature, literature and art, literature and the environment, and men’s literature.
The talk will be followed by a film screening at 7. Featured film is the biography of Ron Kovic. Paralyzed in the Vietnam war, he becomes an anti-war and pro-human rights political activist after feeling betrayed by the country he fought for.
