The 2010 British Petroleum oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico was a massive discharge event that held our collective attention for months. Less extreme spills occur on a regular basis. In this presentation, you’ll learn about the diverse microbes that munch on oil to remediate it from the environment, and how this biological process impacts the surrounding ecosystem.
