One County One Book 2026

Daughters of the Sun and Moon by Lisa See
The Ventura County Library’s One County, One Book initiative is designed to unite the community through a shared reading experience.
Lisa See’s novel is set In 1870 as three Chinese women arrive in the small pueblo of Los Angeles during a period of rampant anti-Chinese sentiment. They are brought together by hardship and heartbreak, and they must use their bravery, endurance, and ability to “eat bitterness” to discover their voices, find freedom, and connect through solace and friendship.Print editions will be available to borrow at Ventura County Library branches. Digital eBook and eAudio editions will also be available.
