  • Beneficial Insects: How to Attract Them to Your Garden

Learn about the importance of beneficial insects and why you want them in your garden. Taught by Certified Master Gardener, Kat Baker.

  • Paws for Reading 2025

    Join PAWS dogs for one-on-one reading sessions. Arrive at the library early to choose a book and get in line to read to a special pooch.

    Children of all ages are welcome!

    E.P. Foster Library Thursdays, 4:00 to 5:30 pm
     

    Families are invited to attend the festivities, including photo area, crafts, and special doggie treats to take home to furry friends. Celebrate this anniversary with current and past therapy dogs and handlers and honor the remarkable dogs and volunteers who make it all possible.

  • Minecraft Club 2025

    An in-person Minecraft program where we play on the same server together.This program is limited to participants ages 5-17 years old. Space is limited. First come, first served.


  • Teen Volunteers

    Teen Advisory Group at E.P. Foster Library
    Need school community service credit?  Teens 13-17 who want to help the library can join the Teen Advisory Group at E.P. Foster Library and plan fun TEEN and CHILDREN’S events!

    Avenue Library also has a teen volunteer group. The Teen Volunteer Club (ages 13 to 18) assists the Homework Center Coordinator by helping tutor students, as well as, helping to create STEAM projects for the children of the community. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please email Ina Holladay at ina.holladay@ventura.org.

  • Black History Month: Movie Matinee: Selma

    Celebrate Black History at E.P. Foster Library! Join us for a screening of the 2014 film, Selma. This drama tells the story of the 1965 Selma-to-Montgomery March for voting rights for Black Americans. Rated PG-13.


  • Afternoon with Grammy-Nominated Jess Lamb

    Friday, January 31, 12:00 to 1:30 pm

    Grammy-nominated Jess Lamb will be accompanied by harpist Victoria Lekson, and one other member of her band.   Lamb’s music is described as featuring “powerhouse, gospel-esque vocals, bluesy piano stylings, and mantra driven lyrics.”  

    This will be a family-friendly program featuring a 45-minute set and a question and answer session.
