In her book, Smith takes the reader through the early, middle and late stages of Alzheimer’s disease, including memory care. Her journey and her mistakes are shared openly to help the reader move forward in their efforts of feeling paralyzed in dealing with this relentless illness.
She became a State Certified Ombudsman, allowing her a window into the world of dementia/Alzheimer’s disease by extensive training and visiting long-term care facilities and meeting with other families who share this illness.
