The Friends of the Library Book Discussion group is reading Barbarian Days and will host a discussion at their October meeting: Saturday, October 6, 10 am in the Topping Room. Visitors are welcome to join in the discussion!

Starting with his childhood, Finnegan sets the tone for a life of surfing, beginning with catching waves in California and Hawaii. One County, One Book unites the members of the Ventura County community in order to spread interest and facilitate discussion about selected books.
People across Ventura County read the same book and attend related events, such as book discussions, film screenings, and related talks.
All Ventura County Libraries will feature a bookshelf of the selected title for One County, One Book: Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life. The shelves popped up in July 2018. Little Free Library Shelves allow you to take a copy to read and return it when you are done. Or, donate a copy for others!
